Instead of calling it gravel riding, DeVinci calls its Hatchet an Open Road model, and offers three different models to meet different budgets. The Hatchet SX, the top-shelf model, was on display at Interbike 2015. It comes equipped with a SRAM Rival 1 mechanical group with an 11-36 rear cassette. The frame comes in six sizes, ranging from a 43cm to a 60cm, and the full bike comes with the price tag of just $1399.
The frame of the bike is aluminum while the carbon forks are an in-house brand, with both the front and rear dropouts designed for quick release disc wheels. The rear clearance allows up to a 40c tire, and the company tries to keep the options open with eyelets for a rear rack.
